KANOE THE KAZOO
River, lake and stream events - May through October
Brought to you by the Kalamazoo River/Lake Allegan Watershed Phosphorus Reduction Committee and Coordinated by Binder Park Zoo

 

Since 2003, Kanoe the Kazoo has introduced 1,000 area citizens and decision makers to the beauty and recreational opportuities provided by the Kalamazoo River and its tributary streams and lakes.

Over fifteen organizations are offering floats on various stretches of the Kalamazoo River, its tributaries and lakes within the watershed.

Participants need to
-furnish their own canoe, kayak, paddles, paddle partner, and life vests
 (some floats may have rentals, call to verify)
-Bring a sack lunch

Other possible items to bring
-camera/binoculars in waterproof container
-cell phone
-extra water
-sunscreen and hat
-rain gear
-bug repellant
-please, no alcohol

Educational and informational displays, speakers, and demonstrations will be available to help you better understand and appreciate the land, water, and human resources of your watershed.
