Your program runs the same day of the week for three weeks.

Now you get more creative learning fun at Binder Park Zoo during an all new Nature Steps 3-week program series.  Choose a topic and join us on the same weekday for three consecutive weeks of hands-on education, with encounters from education animals along with songs, stories, crafts and much more.  Each week you and your child will learn new facts and concepts that will build on the previous week’s experience.   One adult must attend with each registered child.

Yuck!

There are lots of animals we think are yucky and gross, but they can be really good for us too. Come discover why these animals aren’t so yucky at all! Play Bat and Moth and Spider Tag while meeting some of the zoos “yuckiest” critters. Choose one:

Every Monday June 23-July 7            9:30am-11:00am          NS-0623

Every Tuesday June 24-July 8            2:00pm-3:30pm            NS-0624

Every Thursday June 26-July 10        9:30am-11:00am          NS-0626

Making Sense

The wolf has a great big long nose that he uses to sniff out deer. Owls have huge eyes that help them hunt for squirmy mice at night. We use our 5 senses every day too, just like the animals. Do you know which sense is your best? Come find out with us at the zoo! Discover which animals have great taste buds and who uses their ears the most as you play the Wolf Scent game, animal sounds tag and Bat and Moth. Choose one:
Every Monday July 14-July 28           2:00pm-3:30pm            NS-0714

Every Tuesday July 15-July 29           9:30am-11:00am          NS-0715

Every Thursday July 17-July 31         9:30am-11:00am          NS-0717

For Your Protection

Mommies and Daddies teach us ways to stay safe, like wearing a bike helmet or looking both ways before crossing the street. Animals have special ways of staying safe too but they don’t need helmets! How do zebras get away from lions or bunnies from wolves? From flashy colors, poison sacs or sharp teeth, animals come with defenses to protect themselves. Learn more about how these animals stay safe when playing poison dart frog tag and creating a “spiky” porcupine of your very own. We’ll also have up close encounters with some animals that have special ways of staying safe!  Choose one
